HOW TO PRICE CUSTOM TATTOOS

Custom tattoo art is a very specialized art form. A tattoo in itself is very unique, it lasts as long as you do, but a custom tattoo is an original, one of a kind image in a unique form of art designed just for that particular customer. Many things go into a tattoo from customer participation, payment to keep the artist working, customer appreciation of that artist and their form of art so when a custom tattoo is sought you must understand as a customer that you are asking for the best of the best. Give your artist some leeway, trust them based upon their photos and previous clients.

Ask questions, request a drawing and pay a little for the drawing. Study the drawing, ask your friends if it looks right for you, do they like it (if that even matters) and then decide about the tattoo. Also know that the drawing is nothing compared to a finished tattoo, you have to trust your artist.

And that is the key, the tattoo artist you seek out for your custom tattoo has all the power. Recognize that and kiss their ass a little. Throw money at them...because a tattoo is like no other purchase on this planet. It is special, it is something that not everyone can receive, a tattoo is a door to a brother and sister hood of strength and artistic appreciation. A tattoo is a sign that you are better than the norm, you are strong enough to wear ART in your SKIN!

So when it comes to pricing a custom tattoo DO NOT BARGAIN HUNT! Cheaper is NOT better! In fact quite the opposite is true. The more you spend the better you get.

Tattoo artists are artists that earn a living doing their art. If they can't earn enough they don't stop their tattoo art...they move to a better location! So if you value your custom tattoo artist give them your work and make sure to pony up a bit because this one time purchase will last as long as you do, you can't find another product like it, your tattoo will never get lost or stolen, and there are many, many compliments attached to every tattoo!!
