Make sure the tattoo customer did not touch the tattoo or anywhere around it so that their fingers are not contaminated when they hand you your money.  When the customer is admiring themselves in your mirror spray everything with a heavy layer of alcohol.  Sterilize your hands and when ready to apply the bandage then put on another pair of gloves.  This is very, very important to do so at this stage.

At the station, and before the customer leaves roll up the plastic sheet and palate with the ink caps, unused ointment and anything else that is not needles or tubes and throw it away.  Spray the surfaces of the chair, arm support, desk, sink, guns, equipment...everything in your station.  Take care not to inhale the alcohol with your breathing.

When the customers are out the door and you have a moment, wipe everything down with a soaked paper towel with Madicide.  I mean everything, light switches in the bathroom, toilet seat, handle, sink faucet and knobs even your mirror and sink edges.  Wipe down the flash racks and your photo albums, chair arm wrests and even the wall near them.

At your station use the Madacide again over your surfaces and guns.  Make certain to wipe off your guns, and connectors, wires because the Madacide and alcohol will corrode your gun and the connections.    But on surfaces let sit for at least two minutes and then wipe everything up.
If you are not a Germaphobe yet, then as a tattoo artist you must become one.  Show your customers how seriously you take yourself, your work and your life and they will start to realize, (especially when you educate them) that this MRSA and other killers may put us out of business.  If they want our work then we must stay alive, if we want our customers then they must to their part where ever they go.  The more seriously ALL of us work to keep clean the healthier we ALL will become.
